FINAL ROADTRIP

You could say that the devil made me do it: To go down the downtrodden path of creating illustrations. It was my mother’s drawing of a devil, which I wanted to recreate.

But I was also obsessed with Bonus Feature DVD’s to the extent that I had watched them more than the feature movie. Seeing behind the scenes of how movies were made, turned me into creative writing as well.

So that’s why for our final assignment, I wanted to make concept art for one of my ongoing stories: Final Roadtrip

The concept of the story comes originally from late-night road trips through the Icelandic countryside. With this story, I wanted to share with the viewers the conceptual dissonance (mótsagnin )of a gasoline-powered, motorized vehicle speeding at 90 km/h through the vast natural landscapes of Iceland.
