We have closed for applications for full time studies for the school year 2019-20.

All applicants for full time studies must fill out an application form. In the top right corner you can select English as your language.

If applying for the two year courses in ceramics, fine art, illustration or textiles you'll need to hand in a portfolio with your application. The portfolio needs to be handed in at the school office (Hringbraut 121, second floor) no later than 15:00 on the 31st of May 2018.

If applying for the foundation studies an entrance examination is a part of the application process. The examination will take place on the 29th of May.

Foundation Studies

For the two year programme applicants should have completed one year of upper secondary school with 30 specified credits and 30 credits of electives. For the one year programme applicants have to have completed matriculation examination. An entrance examination is a part of the application process.

Diploma Courses

Applicants should have completed secondary level education with visual art as a core subject or have other comparable education or experiential credentials. Non-Icelandic speaking applicants are advised to turn to the head of department in question for advice and assistance regarding application and the possibility for entering the programme as a foreign speaking student.

Open Art Courses - enrollment

General part-time courses and children’s art courses are open to everyone but to ensure an enjoyable experience at the school, the enrollment of non-Icelandic speaking students to a specific course requires consultation with the teacher of the course.
